Malusog, Masustansya, at Kayang-Kaya Magnolia Recipe: Bourbon ChickenPasta

Hello again! Since I'm in the mood for cooking and sharing to you my chicken recipes. Here is another Malusog, Masustansya at Kayang-Kaya ( hearty, healthy and easy to do) chicken meal I somehow invented- My Magnolia Bourbon Chicken Pasta!

So for the Ingredients:
1.  3 tbsp chopped Parsley
2.  1tsp lemon zest
3. ½ cup chopped scallions
4. 2 cups chopped onion
5. 2 tbsp Lemon juice
6. 1 whole garlic bulb chopped
7. ½ cup butter

8. 4 to 6 tablespoons Bourbon whiskey (You may use any type of whiskey if bourbon is unavailable.)
9. 1 tablespoon sugar, or more
10.1 teaspoon ground black pepper
11. 2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
12. 2 tsp. Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
13. 2 tsp Garlic Powder

14. 2 tbsp Olive oil

15. 3 cups of Chicken Stock

16. 2 tbsp Magnolia All purpose flour
17. Magnolia Nutri-Oil Cooking Oil
18. Purefoods Crispy Fried Chicken
19. Magnolia Quickmelt
20. Pre-cooked Choice of Pasta. ( Mine, I like Angel Hair Pasta. You can use spaghetti or fettuccine too)

1. Put chicken in a bowl. Add Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

2. You have now the option to cook your chicken either fried or in a turbo broiler. Mine, I cook my Chicken by Frying in a fryer. Set aside chicken once golden brown.

3. Meanwhile, melt the butter in a sauté pan. Cook the onion for 5 minutes. Add the chicken stock, ketchup, scallions and sugar. Bring to a boil then add the Bourbon whiskey, lemon juice and lemon zest.

4. Simmer and add flour until sauce is slightly thickened. Once sauce is thickened, add your chicken.

5. Once chicken is fully immersed in the sauce, remove the chicken and set aside again. Place your pre-cooked Al Dente Pasta in your sauce. Mix.

6. Put pasta in a serving bowl. Top with your Bourbon chicken. Pour sauce over chicken and garnish with Quickmelt Cheese and the remaining scallions and parsley. Serve hot. Enjoy!

This is another version how you can cook your chicken in a not so usual way! I know it has Bourbon whisky in this recipe but whisky once cook looses its alcohol content and what it usually leave is its sweet and tangy taste. I think this is my version of an adult Chicken and pasta meal. I love the versatility my PFMC ingredients and that I can whip up many dishes from the many variants of Purefood/Magnolia Items in my pantry!

So I hope you enjoy this unique Chicken recipe! :)

Recipe: Magnolia Chicken Bomb Wrap

I have been living alone for more than 10 years now and I must say that living solo can sometimes be really nice and at times, you would wish for the comfort of having some help at home (such as a maid whipping a meal for you)! But I guess living alone has its perks too. One of which is learning how to be a grown up and learning things on your own such as making your own meal (which I have been very good at now).

This is why I wanna share an easy, healthy, hearty meal I love to make. My Magnolia Chicken Bomb Wrap. It's easy to do and a really satisfying baon for any time of the day!

Magnolia Chicken Bomb Wrap

1. Magnolia Premium Chicken Breast
2. Magnolia All Purpose Flour (for breading)
3. Magnolia Quickmelt Cheese (grated)
4. Magnolia Nutri-Oil Cooking oil
5. 2 Tbsp Magnolia Cream Cheese

6. Bread Crumbs (for breading)
7. 1 whole egg (for breading)
8. 10 pcs. Spinach Leaves (washed and removed from stem)
9. Black rice pre-cooked (option: can use white rice but black rice is more healthy :))
10. 1 sliced green apple (sliced into sticks)
11. Lettuce
12. Tortilla Wrap (available in supermarket)
13. Salt and pepper to taste
14. 2 tsp oyster sauce
15. Ranch dressing

1. Preheat cooking pan with Magnolia Nutri-Oil, lightly saute the spinach leaves with the oyster sauce. Add salt and pepper to taste.

2.  In a mixing bowl, mix Magnolia grated cheese, Magnolia Cream Cheese and Spinach. This will be your chicken filling.

3. With your chicken breast, cut and make a pocket on your chicken breast and place 1-2 tbsp of your spinach cheese filling.

4.Secure your chicken bomb with toothpicks

5. Bread your chicken bomb. Here's a tip: It should always be dry-wet-dry. So start dipping your chicken in the flour bowl, then in the battered egg, then last in the breading.

6. In a frying pan or fryer, place and cook your chicken until golden brown.

7.Once chicken is cooked, set aside and start assembling your chicken wrap.

8. In your tortilla wrap, place your lettuce, black rice, apple sticks, chicken bomb and ranch dressing.

9. Wrap your chicken and tadaaaaah, you're done!

Eating has been my passion but in order to satisfy that passion, I've learned to cook meals that I loved to eat because it wont be always that I can go out and get a meal at a specific hour of craving. Hence, the learning came from necessity and it some how turned into a passion as well. My Magnolia Chicken Bomb Wrap is one healthy alternative option to those who wanted to have a satisfying meal but with lesser calories (especially since summer is coming! Hello Bikini!!). It so easy to do and I can promise you it really really tastes good too!  Your Fried Chicken will never be the same! Like Home Foodie's motto:  it definitely is Masarap, Masustansya at Kayang- Kaya (delicious, healthy and easy to do)! So do try this at home! :)

Lastly, as you can see in my recipe I love using SMPC products because aside from it being of good quality, I am assured of its freshness, availability in the market, and very reasonably market price. SMPC products are available nationwide!

Taking Gifting to the Next Level

When I was young, I had this recurring dream about how I would want to spend Christmas. One, that sorta resembled the story of “Home Alone” wherein Kevin McCalister was accidentally left behind by his family at home while the rest of the family left for a Christmas vacation. Likewise, I always dreamt about being accidentally left behind on Christmas (as a child) but instead being left at home; my dream was about being left at a Mall! Yes, it sounds crazy! But I had this crazy thought How wonderful it must be to be left at the mall during closed hours wherein they have everything that you would need in this lifetime, you can roam around the mall, get all the barbies that you want, ride the carousel non-stop,spend time trying out clothes, eat all the food you can imagine without supervisions!

But then again, that was a child’s dream. Nowadays, I know it sounds so farfetched to even happen in reality. (That would be robbery) Lol.  I guess this was the reason why I’ve become a mall-rat at present. I really love malls. I believe they are sanctuaries in the city wherein I can spend hours and hours going around. And Just like SM’s tagline:” We got it all for you”. They truly have everything you need (or imagine to need!)

This is why I wanted to try my luck and somehow make my childhood dream of spending a Christmas at the mall and just shop like there’s no tomorrow. Can I make my childhood dream now a reality? I guess SM Supermall can make it happen.

When asked what I would do just in case I had 25,000 pesos to shop anywhere in SM?

My answers would be pretty easy! (I already had this mentally noted for a very long time!)

For Myself:
  •   Wardrobe update.

Working as a Doctor, the only thing that is not bland in my uniform is my top. So I would usually scour SM department stores for tops and sometimes dresses because they really have nice clothes at affordable prices (especially during sales!)
I usually would do a round-up on SM woman, GTW and Coca Cabana.  I love their pieces and I usually can’t leave the department store without a purchase.

I also have another secret shopping spot at SM. I love shopping at SM Kultura. It's a shopping haven, I tell you!

The pieces of bags, clothes, jewelries have Filipino touch but a modern touch to it.

It's also a plus that these pieces are conversation starter! Banig bags, anyone?

  • Home Decors, Furnitures and Fixture
I think one of my obssession right now is fixing my bedroom. So if given 25,000 pesos I think, I’d gladly buy that John Lewis Duvet I’ve been eyeing for so long whenever I pass by the furniture level and beddings! Don’t you think it’s heavenly? Sleep will definitely come fast!

  • ·      Oster Blender

I’ve always wanted one but always seem to hold on buying one.  Maybe it was because I always wanted someone to buy it for me but I guess now is the time that I say this one is no longer a WANT but rather a NEED. I need to start learning how to be more healthy hence I need a new blender which is easy to use, more practical and it’s a personal jug wherein you can easily bring anywhere after blend since the jug itself is the blender! Don't you just love the colors too?

For the loved Ones:

Mommy:  Mom loves to cook and this Philip Air Fryer would definitely be a hit for mom! It is one of the best innovation I've seen in the market! It lets you cook with the need of oil and frying pan! It's both healthy and so easy to use! Just put in your meat, fries, fish or anything that you would usually fry or bake and then set in the time... and Viola, it's cooked!

Daddy: Dad is so Bagets (read: Young). He recently discovered wearing sneakers, rubber shoes and boat shoes. So this Christmas, I know that he would love to receive a New Balance rubber shoes. I've recently seen one at the department store he would really like. Something like this :)

New Balance Rubber Shoes (SRP ~P3000-5500)

Brothers: My Brothers are very easy to give gifts to. They love anything Nike. So whether its the newest Lebron, a new Pro-Combat compression or just a nice shorts or socks; they would love you for it! So yes, I think it's gonna be Nike again this year. lol :)

For the Community.

One of the organization that I support and truly appreciative of is Youth Sports Advocacy Philippines. It's an organization created by Filipino Athletes to share their skills, to teach, to empower children to play outside, to learn something new while imparting good values for the development of the youth's athletics skills, discipline, motivation and commitment for the betterment of our society.  The organization would usually invite people to join on a weekend visit to an orphanage, a Barangay or even a school wherein they would immerse and teach the kids of the sport they love. It bring such joy seeing these kids learn a new sport, creating camaraderie and just learning how to be a kid at this present generation.

It truly is easy to help. Whether you spend a weekend with these kids, teaching them what you love  or even by donating new sports equipment for them to use. So yes, If I do be given a chance to shop for 25,000; wouldn't it be nice to buy new equipments for these kids to enjoy? Because you know what, there is no better thing in this world than a smile and a thank you coming from a child- this is one gift for your heart. :)

Christmas is truly a time of giving. So I hope you can take gifting to the next level whether it be for your loved ones, friends, yourself or an org you support to. Never miss anyone on your list and let the shopping begin! SM Supermalls have some of the best promos and deals you can get for Christmas so don't forget to visit their site for the latest promos.
